Today is the 1st of July and so it is time for a new poll. I have often wondered how widely the idea of car personalities is accepted and so have decided to find out with this month's poll. You don't have to be registered to offer your opinion so please give us the benefit of your experience...it won't take a second.
If you have an idea for a poll you can submit it to our forum 'The Garage' under the 'Competition Time' thread and win a Kenya car wheel cover for your efforts.

If you are stopped for a minor traffic offence in Kenya |
|
Follow these simple rules...
1. Demand that the officer identify him/herself through an appointment certificate OR through the name and number that should be pinned on their uniform.
2. Equally, always identify yourself by a driver's license or ID document.
3. Do not allow police officers to get into your car when you have been stopped for a minor traffic offence. (Your car is private property and technically the police require a search warrant to enter your car, but we are normally polite and allow them to look into the boot etc)
4. If you are being charged with a minor traffic offence, the paperwork can normally be done on the spot - it's called a 'bail bond' or 'police bail'. You make a cash payment and get an official receipt (which is also a notice to appear in court at a later date). If it cannot be issued on the spot, insist that you follow a police car to the nearest station and then ensure that the bail bond is issued at the police station. Please also note that all minor traffic offences in Kenya are indeed eligible for 'bail bond' or 'police bail' - there is absolutely no justification for you to be locked up at a police station for minor traffic offences (but this is a threat normally used to scare people)
5. Never allow a police officer to take the keys of your car from the ignition - this is illegal.
6. Be polite and non confrontational at all times.
Of course, it need hardly be said, to avoid any of this simply do not cause any traffic offences

We all know baboons are big scary creatures. They sit around picnic sites looking manacing, scaring children and adults alike. Just how cunning and fearless they can be was driven home to me on Saturday last during a trip to Nairobi National Park. 4 adults, 3 childern and one baby in a car seat sat and ate a packed lunch quite happily as there was not a single baboon in sight. We commented on this several times not believing our luck. After we had finished we collected our rubbish and left-overs and put them back in the bag. I then began walking back to the car with the bag. I was only a few paces away from the table when there was shouting from behind me.

Now even easier to add a car! |

As you know, Kenya Car is by FAR the most sophisticated, dedicated auto sales website in Kenya. There is NOTHING else that comes close, despite their best efforts. The main advantages of Kenya Car over other auto sales websites are
- Kenya Car is not a site hacked out of other software (like OS Commerce
). This website has been put together with car sales in mind from the outset.
- Kenya Car has been optimised for search engines (including over 1000 backlinks) to make sure that your listing gets found by people looking for cars.
- Kenya Car is not a 'Johnnie come lately' that relies on simply throwing cash at it. We have been online for over a year; testing systems, finding out what users need and want, building web presence.
- Kenya Car has developed a 'one form upload' system that can be used by those in a hurry. This makes adding cars to our site a breeze; simply register then hit the BIG RED BUTTON.
- Kenya Car is FREE OF CHARGE! It may sound baffling to some but Web 2.0 has moved beyond the idea that websites are a bit like digitised magazines. NO-ONE expects to pay for personal ads anymore. In the same way that no-one expects to pay for membership to social networking sites like Facebook.
To place an ad free of charge on Kenya Car just register, and hit the BIG RED BUTTON!
